Tanzania is endowed with the most adored garden Serengeti .many people have nick-named the place with various names. Some call the Serengeti as the center of species diversity in Africa  while other have named the place as the gem of biodiversity in the Africa  while others have named the  place as the gem of biodiversity in Africa.

 the Serengeti national park  has several  notable  river  like  balageti , mara  warangi  duma simiyu and others and others to mentuion  but a few .Grumeti  River has become an outstanding river in species variation within the Serengeti national park .

Grumeti  river originate in loliondo  district,arusha religion in the northern eastern  part of Serengeti national and  crosses  the grumeti reserve .this important river to existence of serengeti ecosystem join the rubana river before  pouring its water into lake Victoria. The river is seasonal with flowing water during the rainy seasonal while in the dry seasonal the river has only ponds in the river.
